Sitting in the Writing Center today, I read through some articles on politics dealing with the upcoming 2006 elections. It seems the damned religious right is more determined than ever to send this country back to the dark ages. The most irritatingly hilarious quote I came across was this one: "I like to say I'm not a Republican or a Democrat, I'm a Christ-o-crat," declares Pastor Rod Parsley, a supporter of the Ohio Restoration Project and head of a similar venture called Ohio Reformation. His ministry, housed on a sprawling complex in Canal Winchester, includes the 12,000-member World Harvest Church and the non-profit Center for Moral Clarity.
First, if his ministry is based on anything that can be described as "sprawling," perhaps he and his followers should look in the mirror and ponder their role in Christian charity. Think about all the mouths that could be fed and help that could be given for the amount of money these Jesus factories spend on trying to look prettier than the one down the street. Second, "I'm a Christ-o-crat"? Give me a fucking break. If twatwaffles like this wind up elected to positions all over the country, we're all screwed. **grabs Justin** So, when is it we're going to Canada?
